Dear friend of Trickle Up,

If you are considering making a contribution to help the people of Haiti, we would like to recommend Fonkoze, a Haitian microfinance and economic development organization that we know well and respect highly. You can learn more about them and contribute at Fonkoze’s Earthquake Relief & Rehabilitation Fund.

Fonkoze was Trickle Up's partner in Haiti when we had a program there, and we have continued to collaborate with them on a global project to develop innovative ways to help the world’s poorest and most vulnerable people. Fonkoze serves Haiti's poorest with a program similar to Trickle Up's, called Chemin Lavi Miyo (Road to a Better Life) program. After the immediate aftermath of the earthquake is addressed, Fonkoze will be an important contributor to rebuilding people's lives.

We hope you will consider Fonkoze. If you are considering making a gift to other organizations or relief efforts, we recommend consulting Charity Navigator’s guide on how best to contribute to the Haiti response.

You may wonder why we would ask you to give to an organization other than Trickle Up. The answer is simply that now is the time for the world to stand together to help the people of Haiti, and that each person and organization must do what it can during this crisis.

Sincerely,

Bill Abrams
President, Trickle Up
